Scouts BSA Troop 738 in Damascus MD is an active, “Outdoor Troop” focused on the growth and development of a boy’s physical, mental, and emotional fitness. We are “Scout-led” with an emphasis on high adventure, leadership, and the outdoors. We welcome all boys ages 11-17, with no prior scouting experience required.

Boys learn outdoor skills, effective planning, and preparation techniques. As a member of a patrol, boys learn how to plan menus, shop wisely for food, cook outdoors, share responsibilities and have fun along the way. 

Boys are taught outdoor skills and safety including the care and use of a pocket knife, hatchet, and bow saw. They become knowledgeable in first aid, fire starting, emergency preparedness and much more. 

Many of our Scouts attend area schools such as Damascus, Urbana, New Market, Linganore, Windsor Knolls, and others. 

We are charted through St. Anne’s Episcopal Church in Damascus, MD.
